Harford Sheriff's Office buys simulator to train deputies for shooting incidents

With more and more mass shootings happening across the country, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office is ensuring its deputies have the tools necessary to train for such incidents. The Sheriff’s Office purchased two weeks ago a VirTra judgmental training simulator that trains deputies in various shooting situations, from mass casualty situations to a suicidal person. Sheriff’s Office leaders demonstrated for the media the simulator’s walk-in, elevated platform that surrounds the deputy 300 degrees at the Southern Precinct station in Edgewood Wednesday afternoon.
