Maryland labor secretary praises Washington County Youth Apprenticeship Program

More than 50 business people and educators gathered Thursday to celebrate successes and hear about lessons learned through the Washington County Youth Apprenticeship Program. The program pairs Washington County students with paid apprenticeships in area businesses. The purpose is to provide mentoring and training, as well as a progression from school to work opportunities. Washington County and Frederick County are in the second year of a two-year state pilot program.
