Many candidates for Circuit Court judge running against the system, again

Many of the candidates for Anne Arundel County’s Circuit Court say an overtly political process and a lack of diversity are their main concerns as they gear up to run against the incumbent judge hoping to keep his seat. The race for Judge Mark Crooks’ seat on the 5th Circuit Court bench is a crowded one, with six candidates hoping to be one of two who advance to the general election in November. Early voting begins Thursday, and the primary election is on June 26. With only one seat open, the top vote-getters in the Democratic and Republican primaries will advance to the general election.
