Five 'economically disadvantaged' startups get TEDCO investments from new fund

Five startups in Maryland have been selected as the first cohort members of a Maryland Technology Development Corp. program that seeks to fund and train "economically disadvantaged" founders. TEDCO launched its new "Pre-Seed Builder Fund" this year, offering very early stage investments and other support to startups that may be overlooked by other funding organizations. The effort built on and replaced a funding effort TEDCO piloted last year that was specifically aimed at helping African American-owned startups get access to early capital. (Balt. Bus. Journal)
