This weekend's Baltimore Book Festival offers all sorts of opportunities to meet national and regional authors. Among who have caught the interest of Center Maryland include former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura (American Conspiracies: Lies, Lies, and More Dirty Lies That the Government Tells Us, Saturday at 5:30 p.m.), Sherri Shepherd of The View (Permission Slips: Every Woman's Guide to Giving Herself a Break, Saturday at 7 p.m.), and publisher and former Baltimore County Executive Ted Venetoulis (Hail to the Cheat, Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.).

For those who miss out on Venetoulis' Baltimore Book Festival apperance, he'll be signing books at the Borders Book Store in Timonium on Thursday, October 7, at 7 p.m.
