Former U.S. Counterterrorism Czar Richard A. Clarke will speak tonight about America's effort to combat cyber terrorism at an event hosted by the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore.

Mr. Clarke -- who worked for government for 30 years, including 11 consecutive years in the White House advising on security issues -- recently published Cyber War: The Next Threat to National Security and What to Do About It. (Read his full biography here.)

“We are thrilled to have someone of Mr. Clarke’s stature speak to our organization about the need for all of us to work cooperatively in order to counteract cyber terrorism that threatens to undermine our national security,” said Tom Sadowski, President and CEO of the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore.

The presentation from Mr. Clarke comes as cyber-security is rapidly becoming a potential major economic engine for the Baltimore-Washington region. The military has announced plans to base its U.S. Cyber Command at Fort Meade.

“An Evening with Richard Clarke,” will be held on Thursday, September 23, 5:30 – 8:00 p.m., at the Westin Annapolis (100 Westgate Circle, Annapolis, MD).

Mr. Clark will deliver his remarks from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., to be followed from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. with a book signing and reception. Tickets are $50 for Economic Alliance investors and $75 for all others. Admission includes a free book for each guest, free event parking, hors d'oeuvres, and beverages.
