The Maryland Economic Development Association (MEDA) is set to celebrate its 50th anniversary at a three-day conference June 5th to June 7th at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge.

MEDA is a nonprofit organization of economic development professionals, and its members include economic development practitioners employed by government, business, chambers of commerce and other professionals with an interest in the economy of Maryland.

The theme of this year's conference will focus on “The Shift in Communications for Economic Development," and the 2011 MEDA awards will honor members' efforts to attract and support businesses, redevelop business districts, market communities, and promote workforce development, tourism, and agriculture.

Conference registration is $350 for MEDA members and $525 for non-members (which includes membership). Daily and event rates also are available for as low as $75 per person.

Visit to register for the conference, or call MEDA directly at 410-575-6027 for more information.
