When the pandemic first hit, community colleges throughout the state had to make a hard and fast pivot from a predominantly in-class learning environment to mostly online. Teachers and students had trepidations going into the “new normal,” but to Minah Woo’s pleasant surprise, many made the transition successfully. Woo, the associate vice president of continuing education & workforce development at Howard Community College, said COVID-19 forced more late adopters online, where many found out the instruction was as good and allowed them to succeed.
