Baltimore Mayor Scott taps former makerspace head for new digital equity post

Mayor Brandon Scott has charged two new hires — including Baltimore’s first-ever director of broadband and digital equity — with tackling the city’s data needs and wide digital divide. Justin Elszasz, who is currently deputy director and analytics lead for the Mayor’s Office of Performance & Innovation, will now serve as the administration’s chief data officer.
