Baltimore officials unveil draft violence reduction plan

Baltimore City officials seek feedback on a broad violence reduction plan. The plan has been a longtime goal for Mayor Brandon Scott. The city has seen years of high homicide rates. Last year, 335 people were killed in Baltimore. So far this year, the city has recorded 54 homicide victims. “The sheer amount of this loss of life is staggering and something we can never be comfortable with,” Scott said at a news conference. “These aren’t just numbers or an internet post or a one-time news story to me.”
