Maryland will receive $5.62 million from Boston Scientific Corp. as part of a nationwide settlement to resolve claims the medical device manufacturer misled consumers about the safety and effectiveness of its surgical mesh devices. The settlement announced Tuesday will deliver $188.6 million in total to 47 states and the District of Columbia. Boston Scientific will also have to implement various reforms related to its marketing, training and presentation of information from clinical studies.
