Combined Properties lands tenant to fill Shoppers’ void at White Flint Plaza

March 1, 2021

Discount grocery chain Aldi has reached a deal to fill the void at White Flint Plaza created more than a year ago when Shoppers closed its store in the suburban Maryland retail center. The German-based discount supermarket chain has signed a lease with Combined Properties for about 21,600 square feet at the Kensington shopping center located on Nicholson Lane east of Rockville Pike. When it opens in late 2021, it will join other tenants in the 195,000-square-foot center including HomeGoods, PetSmart and Advance Auto. Replacing Shoppers was an important goal for Combined, said Jonathan Shartar, senior vice president at the company.
