Maryland economic recovery gets boost with 13,100 jobs added in March

Maryland’s economic recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic strengthened in March as employers added 13,100 jobs, the state’s highest total since September, the U.S. Department of Labor reported Friday. March became Maryland’s eleventh consecutive month of job growth as the Labor Department revised its estimate for February from a loss of 700 jobs to a gain of 1,900. During the first quarter of the year Maryland has gained a total of 24,200 jobs. The unemployment rate in Maryland remained at 6.2%, slightly higher than the 6% U.S. national average.
