Another 6,000 businesses in Maryland received approval for loans through the federal Paycheck Protection Protection last week as the state closes in on the $2 billion mark. The latest data from the U.S. Small Business Administration shows 20,667 borrowers in Maryland have received approval for loans totaling $1.96 billion as of Feb. 7. The dollar amount represents a 35% increase from $1.45 billion on Jan. 29.
