Md. gained 6,800 jobs in January, US Labor Dept. says

Maryland gained 6,800 jobs in January and the unemployment rate decreased to 6.4%, the lowest level since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, in data released Monday by the the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The professional and business services sector experienced the most growth with an increase of 3,100 jobs from the professional, scientific, and technical services (1,700), administrative and support and waste management and remediation services (1,300), and management of companies and enterprises (100) sectors.
