University of Maryland nursing school receives record $14M gift from Carlyle Group co-founder

The University of Maryland School of Nursing has received a record $13.83 million commitment from Bill Conway, co-founder of The Carlyle Group, and his wife, Joanne. The Conways will deliver the historic gift through their Bedford Falls Foundation, to support student scholarships and renovation plans at the school. It will be the largest donation in the School of Nursing’s history, and the fourth gift from the Conways, who have pledged nearly $30 million over the past six years.
