Virginia, Maryland and D.C. are preparing for a big boost in vaccine supply

Danny Avula, Virginia’s vaccine coordinator, had gotten used to the daily flood of emails from people frustrated with a slow and confusing coronavirus vaccine rollout. But one recent day, he visited a vaccine clinic in Richmond and received a much-needed boost to his spirits. “Just a great buzz of patients who have been waiting and are ecstatic about getting their chance,” he said.
