After a Baltimore neighborhood lost its grocery store, a local deli expanded its offerings

In the wake of Eddie’s of Mount Vernon closing, another neighborhood spot has stepped up to help fill the void the longtime grocer left behind. The Spot Pizzeria & Deli at 1101 St. Paul St. has expanded its offerings of items like fresh produce and canned goods since the end of June. Eddie’s closed on June 29 at 7 W. Eager St. after 24 years, leaving the neighborhood without a local grocery store.
