Holy Cross Health was poised to take major steps on renovations at its two Montgomery County hospitals — but it has to hit the brakes on the projects. The health system had been charging forward with a $25 million redesign of the emergency department at its Silver Spring acute-care facility and a $20 million buildout of shell space for obstetrics and medical-surgical care at its Germantown medical center, Dr. Louis Damiano, president of both Holy Cross hospitals, said in an interview.
