Frederick company gets money for smallpox research

The Frederick biotechnology company BioFactura has announced $7.8 million in new contract activations to study a treatment for a potential smallpox outbreak. The company has gotten contract option activations worth $7.8 million by the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority, according to a news release Tuesday.
