Johns Hopkins hires CareFirst executive for VP role
Johns Hopkins has hired a longtime CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield executive as its vice president for state and local affairs. Maria Harris Tildon will take over the role, which supports both the university and Johns Hopkins Medicine, on April 1. According to an announcement Tuesday, that means Tildon, a Baltimore native, will advocate and lobby for Hopkins in Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Florida. She will also lead efforts to “build and strengthen the institution’s relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders,” including policymakers, businesses and community leaders.
