Gov. Wes Moore emphasizes poverty at first international speech

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D) gave one of the keynote speeches at an annual global gathering of philanthropists, social entrepreneurs and policy leaders in Oxford, England, on Thursday, asking for their collective help to reduce poverty in his state. “I believe that poverty is a choice,” Moore said during a 14-minute address that drew a standing ovation.
