Report shows recovering arts industry in Md., but experts are cautious about future

Maryland’s arts and culture industry added $2 million more worth of value to the state in 2021 compared to 2020 as the arts economy continues to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic. A report from the Bureau of Economic Analysis released this month says that Maryland’s arts and culture production industries added $12.33 million in 2021, which was a 16.8% increase from 2020. The report breaks down the arts and cultural economic activity for each state and then overall for the entire country.
