With Maryland’s labor force participation lagging pre-pandemic levels and inhibiting growth in the state’s stagnant economy, the administration of Gov. Wes Moore is expected to propose during the General Assembly session that begins Wednesday ways to grow the workforce, Labor Secretary Portia Wu said. Maryland has the country’s 12th highest labor force participation rate, which measures the percentage of the population either working or actively looking for work.
