Largo Town Center has sold for $70 million, a nearly 60% increase from what the same suburban Maryland retail center sold for a little more than four years ago. An affiliate of Bethesda’s Finmarc Management Inc. sold the 280,000-square-foot center at 950 Largo Center Drive to KPI Commercial LLC, per Finmarc. The property, assessed at about $35 million, is fully leased to a mix of tenants including Burlington, Foot Locker and Urban Air Adventure Park.

Just days after Eagle Bancorp Inc. (NASDAQ: EBGN), the parent company of Bethesda’s EagleBank, unveiled a series of layoffs and cost-cutting measures, it announced Tony Marquez, one of its top executives, is also being terminated after a 12-year run at the bank. Marquez, Eagle’s senior executive vice president and president of commercial banking, was notified Monday that he was being terminated “without cause,” effective Aug. 31, “due to a position elimination,” the company said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing Monday afternoon. Eagle said it would not replace Marquez or refill his position.

A Westminster entrepreneur believes she has found the solution, and it’s called HiiveCo, a company that installs and manages beehives for clients on their own properties. Laith Nichols of Westminster, owner and founder of HiiveCo, tends to a hive in Sparks Glencoe.

A Los Angeles-based restaurant chain is bringing its authentic hot chicken to Anne Arundel County, the company announced. Crimson Coward Nashville Hot Chicken is set to open a location in Pasadena by the end of this year, according to a news release from Hyatt Commercial, the commercial real estate firm representing the restaurant chain. The restaurant, which has sold the famously spicy chicken since 2018, will be located in the Lake Shore Plaza shopping mall on Mountain Road.

As more states make the move to legalize marijuana, a growing number of businesses are eliminating or drastically changing their drug testing policies. “The majority still have their drug-free workplace policies in place,” said Amber Clayton, senior director of Knowledge Center Operations at the Society of Human Resources Management.
