BWI Marshall Airport set a record with the amount of international traffic it received in 2023, according to Maryland Gov. Wes Moore’s office. While the vast majority of international flights in the D.C. region are from Dulles, BWI Marshall has been adding more global routes. The Maryland-based airport saw nearly 1.4 million international passengers — 2.6% higher than the previous record set in 2018.

The Baltimore Convention Center and Oriole Park at Camden Yards will soon have at least one thing in common — their food and beverage vendor. Levy Restaurants will take over food and beverage services at the convention center starting July 2. The new 10-year contract marks a change from the center’s current vendor, Sodexo Live!, which oversaw operations for the last 14 years.

BioFactura Inc. has signed a lease with Baltimore-based St. John Properties, Inc. for an additional 12,000 square feet of space at Riverside Tech Park, a 70-acre business community in Frederick. The biotechnology firm has occupied 5,520 square feet of space at 8435 Progress Drive in Riverside Technology Park since 2015, and this expands the company’s presence to 17,520 square feet of space within the building.

Before the Ravens 2024 season begins, M&T Bank Stadium will host two of the most recognizable brands in sports: Spain’s FC Barcelona and Italy’s AC Milan. The soccer match, to be played Aug. 6, will be the first international pro soccer competition at the football stadium since 2022, when Everton and Arsenal of the English Premier League played in what was dubbed the “Charm City Match.”

The Johns Hopkins University professor behind several Baltimore companies that have sold for hundreds of millions of dollars is launching a new venture to treat cancer, but this one is based outside the city. Hopkins cancer geneticist Bert Vogelstein’s new firm, Clasp Therapeutics, launched Wednesday morning with $150 million in financing led by Catalio Capital Management, Third Rock Ventures and Novo Holdings, with participation from other health-focused investors such as the investment arm of Baltimore’s BlackBird Labs.

A hotel near Camden Yards will combine beer, brats and baseball in a new pop-up concept opening for the upcoming baseball season. The Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor at 401 W. Pratt St. will debut Boot & Brats Biergarten on March 28, which is also Opening Day at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The city-owned hotel’s outside beer garden aims to draw out-of-town guests and locals.
