Today, I was so pleased to visit Your Journey Nursery and Preschool, The Goddard School (Ellicott City), Mt. Hebron Nursery School, and Family Childcare to thank them for their hard work.
Happy Childcare Provider Appreciation Day to all of our providers who educate and help shape little minds. Childcare providers were deemed essential long before the pandemic, and this last year highlighted their importance to help working families as we navigated through COVID-19

I was excited to join @RoggenartUSA for the grand opening of their second location in Ellicott City. We are thrilled to see restaurants and businesses persevere through these difficult times, and it’s a sign of our continued road to recovery.
Thank you to the First Lady, @MDODSecretary, and the Linwood Center for providing this opportunity to enjoy nature and embrace art. Together, we must serve our local community in order to grow and cultivate together - much like we do planting these flowers.
It was a wonderful day at the Linwood Center where I joined First Lady Yumi Hogan to plant flowers around the memorial sculpture of Hyunsu's Butterfly Statue. The center's incredible work reflects the community emphasis to provide for our friends on the autism spectrum.
If you haven't yet received a COVID-19 vaccine, now is your chance!
The mass vax site in Columbia site is a great milestone and tool in our fight to end this pandemic. As always, I want to remind residents that COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective.
The Mall in Columbia site is open Wednesday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m, and has the capacity to vaccinate up to 3,000 people per day. While walk-ups are available, residents can make an appointment by calling 1 (855) MD-GOVAX or visit http://COVIDVax.Maryland.gov
The Mass Vaccination site at the Mall in Columbia is a great milestone and tool in our fight to end this pandemic. We know that this central location between the Baltimore and Washington suburbs will be convenient for many people in our community.
Please join me in congratulating our three Roger Carter Community Center employees for being being honored by the American Red Cross with its National Lifesaving Awards for their heroic, quick actions last year that saved the life of a HoCo resident.
