State Sen. Hough, who represents Carroll and Frederick counties, won’t seek reelection

State Sen. Michael Hough, a Republican who represents Carroll and Frederick counties, won’t seek reelection as he instead plans to run for Frederick County executive. Hough, 41, made his announcement Monday with a Facebook post that read: “Today I am announcing my candidacy for Frederick County Executive. We cannot let Frederick County become Montgomery County North with overcrowding, congested roads, high taxes and crime.”
