Baltimore's new director of transportation has spent his first two days in the position dealing with a water main break and underground collapse that has shut down traffic flow along one of the city's busiest thoroughfares. In his new role, Steve Sharkey is tasked with not only addressing this immediate crises, but a slew of other problems within the department. He laid out some of his top priorities in a press conference at City Hall Wednesday morning mentioning a desire to improve morale in the agency, increase equity in Baltimore's transit systems and using data to solve challenges.
