Maryland State Sen. Andrew Serafini Resigns From Office

State Senator Andrew Serafini is resigning effective August 1, the state’s Senate Republican Caucus announced Thursday. Serafini, 58, took office in 2015, representing District 2 in Washington County. Prior to that, he served in the House of Delegates from 2008 to 2015. In a letter to Gov. Larry Hogan, Serafini wrote that “after much prayer and contemplation, it has become clear to me that it is time to resign from the Senate of Maryland.” He also thanked Hogan for his “service, leadership and wisdom in guiding our State through such trying and challenging times.” (WJZ)
